If I Stop Taking Birth Control, Will I Loose The Weight I Gained?

I’ve been on birth control for about 8 months and I’ve gained about 10 pounds. I used to be a light eater but after taking this pill I can eat my own body weight and not be satisfied.
If I quit, will my appetite return to normal?

You could loose weight – a lot of what is retained is mostly water anyhow. Often the body “thinks” that it is pregnant while on the pill, leading to an increase in appetite while taking it. So as long as you maintain a consistent healthy diet and routine exercise, you’ll likely shed a few pounds.

I don’t know if there is a correlation between the two, but if you plan to stop taking birth control, be VERY careful. If you do it too fast, then your menstrual cycle will be screwed up for a while. Consult your doctor or an obstetrician before changing your birth control.

It should, this happened to me, just don’t get pregnant, you will really gain then.

yes, because this weight is mainly water and sodium retention

You should ask your doctor that one. I have Mirena and it’s worked great for me.
